Multi-Person Family Therapy
Multi-Person Family Therapy (a session including more than one family member present ) What theory can I use for this description?
Family Scenario: A family of five beginning with the mother (F) who is 50 years old and named Bethany her husband George (M) is 59 years old. Then we have the three daughters two who are twins (F) the age of 17-years old named Kehlani and Novah and the third daughter who is 23 years old and is named Aurora. The problems occurring are lack of communication, trust, and disrespect which come from one of the daughters that was sexually abused by the father’s dad which is the survivor’s grandfather. Factor that continue to enable the issue are triggers, bringing up the abuser in front of the survivor, name calling, and assumptions. In this case the patient who is the survivor is 17-year-old Novah. George seems to be in denial about the abuse and has multiple times let that be known in front of the whole family including Novah. This has also caused issues amongst the couple and which bring arguments that lead into disrespect of one another. Although this has happened, and everyone is aware there is not communication amongst the individuals. They seem to just move forward without sitting down and working on the problem. |
