1. Accessing Google Drawings to create a labeled image

  1. Log into your university email address and navigate to Google Drive by clicking on the tiled icon in the upper-right hand corner of the screen and choose Google Drive.
  2. Once you are in Google Drive, choose New > More > Google Drawing

2. Insert your Photograph or Image into the Google Drawing

  1. To insert your photograph or image into a Google Drawing choose Insert > Image > Upload from Computer
  2. Adjust the bottom-right edge of the image background to crop it closer to your image.

3. Create Labels for your image

  1. Select the Text Box Tool
  2. Drag out a box for your label and type into the textbox.
  3. For darker backgrounds you can change the background color of your label to white by selecting the Fill Color Icon and then Choosing a light colored highlight.

4. Use the line tool to create lines for your labels

  1. Select the Line tool.
  2. Drag a line from your label to the portion of the picture you are identifying
  3. Continue creating lines or choose another tool to continue editing
  4. For darker backgrounds you can change the color of the line by selecting the line-color tool and choosing a lighter color.
 

5. Save and using your Labeled image

  1. Once you have completely labeled your image, download it as a .jpg file by selecting File > Download as > JPEG image (.jpg)
  2. Select the location to save your labelled image to your hard drive.
  3. Insert the image into your lab report or document by navigating to the insert menu within your document editor.

As Masters’ level students, it is important that you be able to critically analyze and interpret information from journal articles and other resources. Simply restating someone else’s words does not demonstrate an understanding of the content or critical analysis of the content. It is best to paraphrase content and cite your source.

I am happy to be flexible, with advance notice. We may be able to work out an extension based on extenuating circumstances. If you do not communicate with me before submitting an assignment late, the GCU late policy will be in effect. I do not accept assignments that are two or more weeks late unless we have worked out an extension. As per policy, no assignments are accepted after the last day of class. Any assignment submitted after midnight on the last day of class will not be accepted for grading.
